Upcycling: DIY Daisy Denim Shorts

Recently, I was generously given a huge pile of hand-me-downs to peruse (no joke, I am the hand-me-down queen. They're much more fun than new clothes). In that treasure trove I was lucky enough to find a pair of good-quality denim shorts - something I've been needing for a while. Unluckily, they had a few ugly brown stains.

But does that stop me?

Hahaha. You're hilarious.

Inspired by this post on Pinterest, I grabbed my fabric paint and got to work. I've been in a flowery mood lately, so the daisy design really spoke to me.

Tip: start off with painting all the circles before adding petals. It makes spacing much easier. I just covered the stains with the circles, and went from there.

That's actually not my hand; it's my little cousin's. Once she gets out of school, she's going bring over a pair of her own shorts to paint!

It's a bit hard to see in the picture, but we added small yellow dots inside the red-orange center.

Stains? What stains?

I also added this dotted design on the other side of the shorts. In all, it turned out adorable! The perfect shorts for summer! Take that, Forever 21. You ain't got nothing on the power of Pinterest and fabric paint.

Long Time, No See + Halloween Movie Snacks

"The wayward blogger, ashamed with her blatant procrastination, carefully tiptoes out of the shadows with a delicious peace-offering..."

Hello, all! Yup, I'm back. It's been ten months, but I'm ready to get back in action! After a good friend redesigned my blog for me, I couldn't let such an aesthetically-pleasing website go to waste. :)

As you may know, I write for the Pacific Daily New's Lifestyle section, specifically the VIBE features. A week or two ago, I co-wrote an article on Halloween movie snacks, for the people who prefer to stay home and watch spooky flicks. You can find the full article here.

My lovely co-writer Danielle also made a cute video to go with the article! Enjoy!

Big thanks to Angelica Rohr for redesigning my blog! Visit her blog HERE

Jar O' Chocolate

Here's a quick look at a gift I made for my friend.
And yup, I used the January Paper Pumpkin.  I went with a jar instead of the little treat bags, though, because it held more candy.  More candy = happier gift-receiver!
