Boo-tiful Bags and Seriously Amazing Mash-Up

I recently got into the craft of stamping, particularly card-making.  I absolutely love it - I don't have to be a crazy good artist to have cool visuals on my cards; I just have to ink and press!  Of course, I always wind up making some sort of mistake while stamping.  Honestly though, the mistakes often give me the stroke of inspiration I need to create my card.

The products I use are mostly from the company Stampin' Up.  I really like their colors and their designer paper, as well as their stamps!  If you're a beginner, a cool thing to check out is their Paper Pumpkin subscription: a monthly package containing stamps, ink, and other goodies for a specially designed project.

I've been a subscriber since August.  Here are the two projects I've received so far:

The one to the right is the August project, and is called "Seriously Amazing." It has the materials for eight cards (four regular sized and four mini) and eight envelopes.  The one to the left is called "Boo-tiful Bags."  As the holiday kit for September, it has six patterned burlap sacks and materials for twelve Halloween-themed gift tags.  Because I don't really give things out for Halloween, I decided to decorate a sack for my friend's birthday present.

In addition to the sack, twine, "Have something sweet" stamp, and gift tag bases from the Boo-tiful Bags kit, I used the Hello Honey stampin' spot and the dot stamp from Seriously Amazing.  I also used my Strawberry Slush ink pad.

My first attempt was a flop.  The yellow was too dark to be layered under the pink color, so I had to try again.

The second time around, I stamped onto a separate piece of paper before stamping onto the tag.

That faded the yellow enough for the pink to look distinct on top of it!

The "stampin' dimensionals" are one of my adhesives; I just really like the raised look!  If you're wondering, I messed up on one side, so I just flipped it over and tried again (that's why the backside isn't blank).

And the actual gift tag is complete!

Because my friend likes her sparkles, I added some sequins from the Seriously Amazing kit to a purple clothespin from the Halloween kit.

I'd say it turned out pretty cute!  The birthday girl has a big sweet tooth, so I gave her a box of her favorite candy and a gift card to frozen yogurt.  The saying on the tag says it all!
